Caffeine in Coffee

caffeine mugAll caffeine in coffee is the same: NOT. Most people know that the caffeine content in coffee is high. What they don’t know is that not all coffee has the same content. When you buy store brand coffee, most often it is made from the Robusta bean, which is indeed higher in caffeine content. However, the Arabica bean contains about half the caffeine compared to the Robusta. Here is a list of caffeine levels (6 oz. size) for popular drinks.

Robusta Coffee      140-200 mgArabica Coffee       75-130 mgEspresso (per oz.)  30-50mgRed Bull                  58.5mgBlack Tea               40-60mgGreen Tea              12-30mgJolt                          35.6mgCoke                       17mgDr. Pepper              20.5mgDiet Coke                22.8mgDiet Dr. Pepper       20.5mg

It is important to note that Arabica Coffee, like that sold by Kingdom Growers, has about half the caffeine. Also note that most coffee cups hold more than 6 ounces. I measured my cup and found it holds 12 ounces. Canned soft drinks come in a 12 ounces size, but you can get soda as large as 120 ounces. So your intake of caffeine is also affected by the amount of the liquid you intake.Customary caffeine consumption is as followsLow caffeine users: less than 200mg per dayModerate caffeine users: 200-400mg per dayHigh caffeine users: more than 400 mg per dayEnjoy you Kingdom Growers Coffee and drink responsibly.LJ
