Church Spotlight: The Church at Rock Creek – Little Rock, AR
The smell of coffee wafts through The Church at Rock Creek as people mill about, waiting for the Sunday service to begin. These people are serving others—even as they chat and catch up by the sanctuary. They’re supporting farmers and families with every sip of coffee they take and every pot they brew. The Church at Rock Creek serves Kingdom Growers Coffee.“We absolutely love the plan that KG has put in place to help people in other parts of the world to start and grow a thriving business,” Executive Pastor Sean McKean says. “The model of giving someone a real purpose that is self-sustaining is a model we can all learn from.”The church, he says, has been serving Kingdom Growers Coffee for about a year and a half, and members love the Vienna Roast the most. They grab quick cups of it before and after Rock Creek’s three Sunday services. Churchgoers enjoy about 18 carafes of Kingdom Growers per week. And through this choice of coffee supplier, Rock Creek members are helping develop farming communities and spreading the Gospel with nothing more than their thirst. As McKean says, the coffee members drink furthers the church’s stated vision of “taking Jesus as He is to people where they are” because that’s what Kingdom Growers does. We’re meeting people’s needs in their own communities. We’re taking Jesus directly to farmers. And, everyone sipping our coffee at Rock Creek has become a part of that.
